Vrhnika - Church of the Holy Trinity 

Church of the Holy Trinity is situated in Vrhnika, at the smaller hill, which is the popular walking and belvedere point for local people and tourists. It is the easiest available if you leave car at Cankar Square, in the centre of the city, where is also the hotel Mantova and then you go up to the hill in the Old street, passing the Cankar's memorial house. Up to the church go Stations of the Cross with the chapels. You can also see the water supply from the year 1904, when was the mayor Gabrijel Jelovsek and the memorial plate for Ivan Gruden. The Church of the Holy Trinity was built with the voluntary contributions of the parishioners, around the year 1640. It has not changed much till today, only the Gothic belfry was replaced with the Baroque one. You can see the interior with the beforehand announcement. The first one who wrote about the Way of the Cross to Holy Trinity was the famous Janez Vajkard Valvasor. It was the well-known destination of many pilgrims in the 18th century. Layer's Way of the Cross was built around the year 1700. The Church of the Holy Trinity is powerful and surrounded with 13 chapels. You can see inside the famous Kozelj and Ogrin frescos and wonderful altars.
