Bohinjska Bela or Belanska village is the settlement situated in community Bled. It is situated in the road to Bohinj, in the left side of river Sava Bohinjka. Bohinjska Bela is divided in two parts: Lower or Dolenja village and Upper or Gorenja village. Dolenja village with parish church of saint Marjeta is the oldest part of the settlement, from the year 1000. Gorenja village is the smaller part and it is situated under overhanging rock Iglica, here lives most of people. In Iglica are posibilities of Alpine climbing. The newest part of Bohinjska Bela is Podklanec from the beginning of 20th century and it rised with construction of the railway and bus station in the south part of the field. Here was also a saw and in the thirties they bulit places for military purpuses. In the first years of 20th century have villagers beside playing the tambourines began with organized cultural activity in drama theatre and choral society, but it took two decades that they got their own place in barn Rot. In the year 1948 they opened Youth house. Beside these parts belongs under Bohinjska Bela also hamlet Obne, which is situated one kilometer away, against Bohinj, village Kupljenk and hamlet Slamnik, from where is a wonderful view. Kupljenk is situated in the right bank of river Sava and not far away is entrance in the cave Babji zob, which can be visited with guide of caving club. Village Kupljenk has only about 30 inhabitants. Bohinjska Bela is also convenient for trips and one of them is Galetovec (1256 metres).
