Vipava is interesting town, which is located in the upper part of the Vipava Valley. The city has a nice old town centre, where the major sights are the Lanthieri Mansion, the Baumkircher Tower, the Church of Saint Stephen and other. The special natural remarkableness in Vipava is the source of Vipava. The sources of the river belongs among the efficacious karst springs, because they gather waters from the karstic hinterland of Postojna basin and Nanos. The main sources of Vipava River are Podskala and Podfarovz, which are located few meters away from the Main Square, behind the Lanthieri mansion. The main sources at rainfall increase very much. Beside these two sources are other sources in Jama, Podlipca, Sleženec and other. The Vipava River is the only river in Europe which has a delta source. Near springs we can refresh in the Guest house Podskalca and in the Guest house Bernik, where they offer many different delicious food. Here is also a nice walking path, which attracts many locals and tourists.
