Kranjska Gora is the centre of the municipality, which also includes Mojstrana, Belca, Dovje, Srednji vrh, Gozd Martuljek, Ratece, Podkoren and Zgornja Radovna. The symbol of the municipality is the animal blackcock, which represents wealth, love and unspoiled nature. The blackcock is in these places among the protected animal species. As a tourist place Kranjska Gora became known with the construction of the railway and its first visitors.
Kranjska Gora with the surrounding area offers many opportunities for different acctivities throughout all the year such as hiking, biking, Nordic walking, skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering, water sports, fishing, golf and many more. The most known cultural attractions in the old part are the Church of the Assumption, the 300-year-old Liznjekova house the birth house of famous writer Josip Vandot.
