Sokol Restaurant is located in the old part of Ljubljana, at Cyril Methodius Square 18. The premises of the restaurant are in the old bourgeois house in the immediate vicinity of the Ljubljana Town Hall.
The building houses the Sokol restaurant since 1870. The ambience is designed in the style of an old farm inn, which is surrounded by 19th century art paintings. The two storey restaurant rooms cater to a wide range of people, from the intimate atmosphere to ten people in a special small room to about 80 people in the last newly built room. They can accommodate up to 250 guests. At the sounds of Slovenian music, the waiters in traditional costumes serve traditional dishes and there is also a wide selection of top Slovenian wines. The Sokol Restaurant is known for house specialities such as Carniolan sausage with sour cabbage and sour turnip, mushroom soup in a bread cup and home brewed beer. Typical dishes also include domestic beef noudle soup, Venison goulash in bread cup, blackpudding with sour turnip, deer medallions with cherry sauce and home made cheese rolls, Ljubljana cottage cheese pancake with tarragon, apple strudel with cottage cheese and vanila cream. Guests can also choose from grilled dishes, fishes, seafood, vegetarian dishes, pasta and risotto, seasonal dishes, breakfasts, brunches, daily lunches, desserts of choice, homemade bread, homemade brandy, homemade pastries and top quality Slovenian wines. There are about 12 different menus available for guests. Extra amenities include chairs for children, food for takeaway, free Wi-Fi and a beautiful garden, which is especially popular during the warmer months.
