Town Ptuj has a beautiful old town centre. Drava Street is going parallel with the River Drava from the terrace under the Dominican monastery up to the tower. Here lived in the Middle Ages tanners and butchers. In Drava Street we can see several interesting buildings as are the Drava Tower, the houses with the numbers 8, 11, 23 and others and the bust of national hero Dusan Kveder. We can walk by the river and enjoy in marvellus views. In this part is located the China restaurant and well know restaurant Ribic with the season garden, where is also the pier for boat on Drava. The bridge, which is reserved only for walkers and cyclists is leading us to the right bank of the River Drava to the Ptuj Thermal Spa. The Drava Tower was built in the year 1551. It is the largest and the only preserved from the former six towers of the renaissance town defensive system. Originally it didn't have the roof, but it was the cannon platform on the top. Above the entrance to the tower is engraved the city arms, which is the last remain of the Hungarian doors. A tower is for many years the museum exhibition ground. From the year 1992 is named as the Mihelic Gallery and is intended for exhibitions of the modern fine arts. The bronze bust of Dusan Kveder (1915-1966) in front of the tower is the work of the Viktor Gojkovic from the year 1967. The Inn Ribic offers delicious local food and wines from the Ptuj Wine Cellar.
