Ljubljana - Zoo

The Ljubljana Zoo was established in 1949. The first animal cages were located in the heart of Ljubljana until it moved to its present area in 1951. The zoo is today located in the southwestern part of Roznik.

It has about 7 kilometers of walking paths and occupies about 20 ha of land. The Ljubljana Zoo has about 200,000 visitors every year. They have been developing as a modern zoo since 1988. Representatives of native and native species are grown in the zoo. Birds and mammals predominate, and they also breed amphibians, reptiles and some species of spiders, snails and insects. At the Ljubljana Zoo you can see lions, brown bears, ostriches, camels, meerkats, emu, asian elephant, alpine goat, king python, freckled owl, california sea lion, giraffe, chimpanzee and many other animals. The zoo offers the possibility of birthday celebrations, camping, nightlife, photo safari, group management and more. You can plan your visit by also looking at feeding the elephant, sea lion, bear and other animals. The zoo has a restaurant where visitors can enjoy cold and hot drinks and fast food.

The store offers a wide range of plush toys, pendants, T-shirts with animal motifs and more. In front of the entrance to the zoo is an interesting metal statue of a bull, which is the work of sculptor Janez Boljka.
