The church of Saint Rocco is situated in Dante Street in the Trg bratstva (Square), which is also called Rokov trg (Square). In the surrounding of the town Izola raged plague in the year 1849, but unfortunately did not hurt the residents of the city. In grateful thanks for that they renovated the old church of Saint Laurence and dedicated it to the Saint apostle Rok, who is protector before epidemic illnesses. In the year 1977 was church radically renovated in the mixture of classicism and baroque style, which can be also seen today. In the Church of Saint Rocco are organized masses in Italian language.
