Bistra - Forest educational trail

Technical Museum of Slovenia is situated in the former monastery and later cahteau area of Bistra. Bistra is located in the nearness of Ljubljana, between Vrhnika and Borovnica. The museum is housed in 6000 square metre of area. The forest educational trail is located directly above the museum. From here is also a wonderful view to near and distant surroundings. The trail is 2300 metres long and goes through beechen and fir forest. On the forest educational trail is located 23 information boards. They are explaining with caricatures and in funny ways the fundamental tasks of woods, their meaning for whole society and factors who weaken their vitality. After the forest educational trail visitors can walk alone or they can ask in the museum for guided visit. The group of adults or children to 25 persons leads the student of forestry or forester. Children will also receive working sheets with different questions. The leading will last about two hours, possible is also the shorter variant for 1 hour 30 minutes. If it rains, the guidance is cancelled. At visitors is recommended protection before ticks and suitable clothes and shoes.
