Monastery Olimje is located on the flat area in the village Olimje. It is designed as a symmetrical building with round towers on corners. Former Renaissance castle was built by family Tatteenbach in 1550. In the monastery for Pauline monks from Croatia was reorganized in 1663. They stayed in it until 1782 and marked it with pharmacy and art. Since the year 1990 in the monastery Olimje live Minorite monks.
Today is in the monastery very well known pharmacy Olimje, where we can buy many tea mixtures, ointments and similar natural healing products. Products are prepared after old and tested recipes. Plants are planted in the garden of medical herbs in front of the monastery, which we can also visit. They have planted about 200 kinds of plants.
