The Koper Bell Tower or City Tower is the beautiful and attractive panoramic point from where you can see the nearby and distant surroundings of the city Koper. Under you are like in the palm the Praetorian Palace, Foresteria and Armeria, Loggia, Pizzarello-Palma Palace, Harbour Koper, Square Brolo, the building of the Slovenian Television and many other attractions. In the further you can see Zusterna and Ankaran. The belfry can be reached by ascending 204 steps. The entire height of the tower is that of 54 metres. At a height of 43 metres you can admire the view of the city. The Bell Tower used to be part of a Roman fortification. It was changed into a bell tower in the period from the 15th to the 17th century and has been used for liturgical purpuses ever since.
