The Succursal Church of Our Lady of Kropa, known locally as the church at the little chapel and for many years a pilgrimage destination, is built mainly in Baroque style but is also strongly redolent of the Renaissance. Construction of the church was begun in 1712 by the inhabitants of Kropa on the site where a miraculous image of the Virgin Mary was discovered. The nave of the church is constructed in the shape of an extended octagon. The church was consencrated July 2, 1729. A benefice house, later the sexton's house, was built nearby in 1741. The exterior of the church features sculpted portals and window frames made from green stone, baroque windows and a small bell tower on the roof. The inside of the church is richly adorned and includes paintings by Leopold Leyer and Matija Bradasek, sculptures, a wrought iron crucifix from the hammer of master artist blacksmith Joza Bertoncilj and an alter also forged from iron. A painting depicting the discovery of the miraculous image of the Virgin Mary is the work of Kropa born painter Janez Krstnik Potocnik.
