Krvavec is a popular wintersport centre in Slovenia. It is situated in Kamnik-Savinja Alps. It belongs to Cerklje Commune in Gorenjska Region. In summer time Krvavec is a starting point for many mountain trips. Before development of skiing and cable railway Krvavec was in summer time a mountain pasture for cattle. Development of Krvavec as the tourist centre also brought development of the mountain pasture. It was built the road, installed the electricity and drinkable water for the cattle with the troughs and drinkable water to the shepherd's huts. In Krvavec are two pastural communities, which are Jezerca and Kriska planina pastoral communities. The Jezerca pastoral community includes the southern slope of Krvavec. The Kriska planina pastoral community includes the northern slope of Krvavec. It lies on the region of 350 hectares, from that is 150 hectares of pasture land. Pastures are divided into separate departments as are Njivice, Zvoh, Blek, Dou and Krvavec Summit. The community consists of 36 members and from that is regulary pasturing the cattle about 20 members. The pasture period is from the middle of June till the middle of September. Before present owners the pasture land was in the property of the counts Kriski from the village Kriz by Kamnik.
