Mokrice
Mokrice is a place, which is the most known by its castle with extensive golf playground and 200 year old English park. The Mokrice castle is in historical sources first mentioned in the year 1444. In the Roman times was here strongholh, which was called Romula and under it was the settlement with the same name. There was preserved lots of excavations. In the Renaissance period the primary medieval tower was expanded with four tracts, which today enclose the internal arcade yard. In the castle coat-of-arms is a crow, which neck is daggered with the arrow.
Today the castle is reorganized to the 4 star Golf Hotel Mokrice Castle, which is managed by the company Terme Catez. Under the Medieval walls is the extensive playground for golf. It has 18 playing fields and it is a real challenge for experienced players and also for beginners. The playing fields have lots of natural obstacles, between them is also a lake. The new acquisition is a modern golf simulation, which gives an opportunity to play golf in winter times. In the restaurant they have lots of tempting food. In the wine cellar they have the best Slovenian wines and here are also organized guided tastings.
Mokrice Castle is the popular place for organization of business, social and protocol meetings.
