The Skocjan Caves Park is located in the Classical Karst, near the village Divaca. Skocjan Caves are one of the most important underground phenomenon in the Karst region and Slovenia. They belong among the most famous caves in the world. Caves were created by the river Reka, which disappears under the rocky wall on the top of which is located the village Skocjan.
The Skocjan Caves Park Information Centre is located in Matavun. There are ticket office, information point, tourist information, souvenir shop, restaurant, which offers a wide variety of drinks and meals, parking area for buses and personal vehicles and kids' playground.
Ticket office offers purchasing of tickest for Skocjan Caves tours. In the information point the Classical Carst, cartographic and photographic illustrations of the Skocjan Caves Park, protected areas in Slovenia and project partners in the ALPENCOM project are available to visitors. In the tourist information they offer tourist information on the Skocjan Caves Park and its surroundings. They are open from June to September from 10 am to 17 pm. In the souvenir shop, visitors can buy various souvenirs. The Skocjan Caves Park Information Centre is also the beginning and the end of the circular trail around the park, which is about two kilometres long and takes less than one hour's walk in the beautifule nature.
