Bled Castle is the powerful building, which is rising 130 metres above the Lake Bled. According to written sources is the oldest castle in Slovenia. Bled Castle is a symbol of Bled and Slovenia. From the castle are spectacular views to the nearest and distant surroundings. Lake Bled is in front of you just like on the palm. You can see the traditional special boats called pletna, which are on the way to the Bled Island with the church, which attracts many visitors with the wishing bell. The boatmen are stationed and waiting for you under Hotel Park, at the Health Park, at the Rowing Centre and in Mlino. You can see the hotels, shopping centre, Castle Bathing Area, hill Straza, hill Babji zob, the longest Slovenian mountains Karavanke with the highest peak Stol, Julian Alps and many other things. The Castle Bathing Area is the only public bathing place by Lake Bled. It is fenced in the land and also in the water. Castle Bathing Area has several years the Blue Flag, which means that fulfills the strict environment standards as the result of ecological activity of all the factors. Straza is 642 metres high hill above the Lake Bled. Velika and Mala Straza are covered with stand of linden oak and spruce trees. The Rikli Fitness Trail runs through wooded areas and meadows. In winter time Straza becomes popular ski slope and in summer time you can try adrenalin sledding on very attractive slopes.
