The oldest town in Slovenia is for a long time famous by the historical and excellent culinary art and especially by excellent wines. The city already has seven centuries long tradition of producing and cultivation of wines in their cellars. In Ptuj Wine Cellar they have the oldest wine in Slovenia, the golden vine, vintage 1917. The wine cellar is the member of the group Perutnina Ptuj. The new trademark of wines with the name Pullus, the wine with the taste, was introduced to the public in the year 2007. The word pullus comes from the Latin and means the chicken and also the cover. Wine tastes are four: bitter, sour, sweet and salty. Pullus wines confirm the top level quality with the rewards from all over the world. Archive wines are Laski Rizling, Sauvignon, Traminec, Chardonnay and Renski Rizlin selection. In Ptuj Wine Cellar they show visitors the interesting wine cellar. The first part of the visit is in the wine cellar, where we walk pass the huge barrels and watch the dusty bottles of wine in the wine archive. The second part of the visit is taking place in the place for wine tastings. By the detailed explanation of the enologist Bojan Kobal you will taste different wines, watch the short film and enjoy in the wonderful atmosphere. After the finished wine tasting we can buy the wine that we like. For the visit we can order by the manager of the wine house, Tanja Vinkler, from Monday to Friday.
