Cape Debeli Rtic extends on the northern part of the Slovenian coast, near the border with Italy. The Mediterranean Park and the coastline at Debeli Rtic are protected and therefore a special regime is in force, which prohibits all interventions and destruction of natural heritage.
Debeli Rtic Youth Spa and Debeli Rtic RKS Resort are located on Debeli Rtic, built in 1955. The protected area covers about eight hundred meters of coastline in the westernmost area of the Debeli Rtic Peninsula. It includes a 200 meter coastal strip, cliff walls and edge, and a terrace at the foot of the cliff. The picturesque cliff walls are 12 to 21 meters high and have different geomorphological composition. Cliff is overgrown with heat-loving plants such as small autumn, beetle and more. The rocky seabed is overgrown with algae or on the seaweed sand, with many animals in the home, such as oysters, edible mussels, sea urchins, sea cucumbers, sulfur sponges, small spider and others. The Slovenian Red Cross Youth Health Resort and Resort Debeli Rtic are an ideal place for relaxing in unspoiled nature in the middle of a Mediterranean park. It comprises a resort center, a health and wellness center, an adventure center and a business center. Accommodations at Hotel Arija, Hotel Bor and youth hostels are available.
The beach at Debeli Rtic is rocky and partly sandy, while the central part has a swimming pool. In the immediate vicinity of the pool is an amphitheater where various activities take place.
