Braslovce, Polzela and Smartno ob Paki with their surroundings have many natural and cultural sights that attract many domestic and foreign visitors. Among them, the settlement of Polzela with the Senek manor, the Komenda castle, the settlements of Letus and Šmartno ob Paki stand out the most.
Polzela is a larger settlement, which with its narrower hinterland occupies an extremely important geographical position. It is located next to an important, old road junction that connects routes from the western areas of the Celje basin with the Saleska and Upper Savinjska valleys. The place is famous for its sock factory. The biggest local sights are the Senek manor with a park, the church of Saint Margaret, Komenda Castle, a cultural center, a monument to the victims of the First World War, a monument to the victims of the National Liberation War and Zigan's chapel (Chapel of the Heart of Jesus). The Church of Saint Margaret is located in the center of Polzela and was first mentioned in written sources in 1255. The original church building was a pilgrimage site. It got its current appearance in 1616. The pilgrimage building was baroqued and the present presbytery, sacristy and both chapels were added to it. Komenda Castle is located on a hill in the center of Polzela. It was mentioned in the Aquileian Charter in 1149. It was owned by the Maltese Order from 1323 to 1780. With its location, stylistic elements and architectural features, it is an important historical and cultural monument.
The castle lost its Renaissance defensive components and only the castle core has survived to this day. In 2011, the renovation of the castle was completed and the municipality acquired many new premises that are suitable for the development of tourism, social life and cultural activities. Senek manor is a late Baroque building located on a small hill in the northern part of Polzela. Next to the manor is the Senes park, which has been declared a cultural monument. About thirty different, exotic trees grow in it. The manor was originally a Zovne estate and was first mentioned in written sources in 1288. The castle, which had the shape of a tower, was mentioned many times in written sources, but in the Celje-Habsburg War in 1493 it was demolished by the people of Celje. In 1493, a new one was built under the old mansion. The current Senek mansion, which is basically a horseshoe shape, was probably built by the Raumschűssli in the second half of the 15th century. Today's image was given to it by the feudal owners Pongratzi in the middle of the 19th century. Letus is a clustered central settlement located at the crossing of the Lower Savinja Valley into the Mozirje Basin.
The village is marked by a stone bridge over the Savinja River. On a hill by the river stands a church dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and the Letus branch school. The settlement is distinguished by the Savinja River, which is the sixth longest river in Slovenia and the longest river that flows entirely through the territory of Slovenia. Church of Saint John the Baptist was declared a local cultural and historical monument in 1999. The 16th-century sacral building was remodeled and vaulted in the 18th and 19th centuries. The church consists of a nave with side chapels and a presbytery with a sacristy and a bell tower. The interior of the church is Baroque and from the 19th century. Smartno ob Paki is a place that developed at the crossroads of three valleys, which are the Saleska Valley and the Lower and Upper Valleys. The settlement was inhabited in the Roman era, and the first recorded data are from 1256. In addition to the Church of Saint Martin, in the center of the town there are also a chaplaincy, the parish of Smartno ob Paki, a monument to the fallen in the First World War, a library, a cultural center, the Letonja Brothers Elementary School, the Soncek kindergarten and more.
On the nearby hill Mali vrh are the ruins of a castle, which the owners called the Paski turn. Above Smartno ob Paki rises Mount Oljka, which is a popular excursion point. At the top is a mountain lodge and the pilgrimage baroque church of Saint Cross.
