81 Town Koper has interesting and picturesque old town centre, which just invites us to take a walk. Old town centre was made on island and it is connected with the land from the end of the former century. Koper was under the hegemony of the Venetian republic for long time, which let the city large signet. After the decay was under the Austrian and France. In Cankar Street is situated the De Rin House, the Corner Palace, Gymnasium (grammar school) Koper, Rotunda of Mary's Assumption or St. Elia, De Belli Palace and other. De Rin House is a typical Venetian house from the 15th century. The Rotunda of Mary's Assumption is the oldest town's baptistery, which is from the middle of the 11th century. Primary entrance to the cylindrical rotunda was on the western side. It was built in the Romance style, but there are also seen older style characteristics. Rotunda is one of the oldest sacral buildings in the region of Slovenia. De Belli Palace is from the second half of the 16 th century. In the nearness of Cankar Street are Trg Brolo and Tito Square.
