Lakes, ponds The Lake Crnava and Hotel Alma & Grad Hrib are situated in Preddvor. They are popular places for many local people. They are also starting-points for trips to the saint Jakob, Potoska gora, Kalisce, Javorjev vrh, Srednji vrh, Cemsenik, Storzic and Hudicev borst. The Preddvor manor in the middle of the village was between second world war private hotel for holidaymakers. Today is youth house. The Castle Hrib was reorganized to the restaurant and they also have weddings. Beside the castle is an old avenue planted with old trees on both sides. The old legend promises to the fresh married couple, if they walk through this promenade, 50 years of faithfulness. Beside the castle they damed up the brook Bistrica, which flows from the back of the Potoska gora and supplies the artificial lake Crnava. Hotel Alma has a terrace, from where we can enjoy in wonderful views to the mountaints and to the lake. In summer time is possible to borrow the boat, hire a tennis place and in winter time we can slide. Around the lake is a good walking path. In the Bistrica valley, beneath Zaplata, is the rock climbing. It is only half an hour walking from the Lake Crnava.
Lake Bled is wonderful in every time of the year and so attracts many visitors from near and far. If you go for a walk around the lake, you can see the city part with the shopping centre and Spa Park, Castle Bathing Area, Mala Zaka with Rowing Centre and statue of boatman, Velika Zaka, baths in Mlino and other. It is a marvellous view to Bled Castle, Bled Island and Karavanken Mountains. In the city part are hotels, parks, Villa Preseren, Cafe Park with famous cream cakes, Mexican restaurant Chilli, Festival Hall Bled, stop for carriage riders and pletnas and other. The Spa Park was created around 1891 when Spa Home was built. Today they have in the park in the summer time stalls, where they sell home made products. In Spa Park they organize in August the Okarina Folk Festival Bled. Castle Bathing Area is the only public bathing place by Lake Bled. Mala Zaka is the popular bathing place with wooden piers, which attracts many visitors in the summer time. The Mala Zaka is the sporting and tourist complex in which are also included the Hotel Zaka and the Rowing Centre. In Velika Zaka is the grassy bathing area. Here are also a restaurant, shop, bar and Camping Bled, which is visited by many tourists. The Cafe Belvedere is situated on thirty-metre pillars above Lake Bled. From here is a wonderful view to Bled Island and to mountains in the background. In the nearness of the baths in Mlino is the private hotel Mlino, private hotel Pletna and stoping place for pletnas. When you are nearing the town you will pass Villa Istra, Villa Beli dvor and Villa Lastovka.
Plansar Lake is situated in Zgornje Jezersko, against boundary, where is the branch marked with a signpost. At the lake is the restaurant Gostisce ob jezeru, where they have good local food. Around the lake goes a nice walking way. The lake has a shape of a heart. It was damed up in the memory of the big ice lake. It is the most known tourist point in the village and their symbol. We can visit it in any time of the year. In the summer we can go boating, cycling or climbing in small artificial wall. In the winter we can go to ski running or skating. It is especially romantic in the evening in the clear weather, when above us are stars and in the restaurant waits us hot tea.
Camping Sobec is the largest campground in Slovenia. It ranks in the highest five-star category. It has also The Blue Flag, which is a symbol of high environmental standards as well as good sanitary and safety facilities at the beach. Open is from Easter and to the end of September. The Camp is located in the North-West of Slovenia. It is only 15 km from the Karavanke Tunnel and 2 km off the road Villach – Ljubljana, near famous resort of Bled. It is recommended by camping clubs and European Auto Moto Club. Camping Sobec is hidden in the shade of a pine forest between the Sava Dolinka River and a small lake, called Sobcev bajer, which is artificial origin. Camp Sobec has 15 hectare of land and offers 500 beautiful sites for camping. Reservations are not necessary and pets are welcome. You can also rent bungalows. Camp Sobec has reception, supermarket, conditorei, restaurant, performance place, laundry, buffet, mini golf, economic house, tennis courts at the sand and grass, play grounds, heated toilets and service station. Guests can play beach volleyball, mini football, badminton, table tennis or try a small climbing wall. At evenings are organized animations for children and adults. There is a beach at the pond. Camp Sobec is the excellent starting point for all lovers of mountains, hiking and mountain climbing, because is near the Triglav National Park. You can start bicycle trips and hikes right from the campground. You can also try adrenaline sports as canyoning, paragliding, spelunking or visit the adrenaline park.
