Ski slopes Kranjska Gora is located in the Upper Sava Valley, in the northwest of Slovenia. It lies at the mouth of the Pisnica River to the Sava Dolinka and belongs to the narrower area of the Triglav National Park. It is surrounded by the peaks of Mala Mojstrovka, Vitranc, Razor and Prisank. It is an important mountain tourist destination and a well-known winter sports center. Around the old village core of Kranjska Gora, a new part of the village has been developed, which is primarily intended for tourism. It consists of hotels, holiday homes, guesthouses, a shopping center and recreational facilities. Kranjska Gora with its neighboring settlements Podkoren, Ratece, Gozd Martuljek and the valleys Velika Pisnica and Planica represent a tourist area with ski slopes, lifts, walking trails and cross-country skiing. They are holding international competitions in alpine skiing on the steep slopes of Vitranc near Podkoren and ski flights and jumps in Planica. The speciality of skiing in Kranjska Gora is in the variety of terrains that offer skiing for both experienced top skiers and beginners. The ski slope is very easily accessible, as there is only a snowy beach between the main hotels and ski slopes where it can be enjoyed under the winter sun. Ski lifts and various slopes are located along the slopes of Vitranc from Kranjska Gora to Planica. Their altitude ranges from 800 meters to 1215 meters. The ski slopes are connected by a system of 13 lifts and 5 chair lifts. The ski lifts in Mojstrana (lift), Rateče (chair lift) and Gozd Martuljek (lift) also operate. There is a snow kindergarten for the youngest, where they can learn skiing quickly. Beginners are offered a ski school, which includes the rental of ski equipment and a patient instructor. The ski slopes of Kranjska Gora can be enjoyed by snowboarders in addition to skiers.
Krvavec is a mountain, which is situated in Kamnik-Savinja Alps. It belongs to Cerklje Commune in Gorenjska Region. Krvavec RTC is very well known wintersport centre, which is visited by many admirers of skiing and other sport activities. Before development of skiing and cable railway Krvavec was in summer time a mountain pasture for cattle. The first double seated ski chair lift from the valley to Gospinec started to work in the year 1958. The first downtrodden machine they got in the year 1968. The two seated chair lift Zvoh is the highest in Krvavec. The upper station is situated at a 1971 height above sea level. In the ski resort they have artificial snow. In winter time you can spend the night in the interesting Eskimo village. In the igloo hotel are available five igloos for six people and two igloos especially for couples. In additional offer are also ski school, competitory line Zeton, polygon for safe driving, polygon for beginners, infant's ribbon and merry go round. In the mountain are following accommodations and restaurants Hotel Raj Krvavec & Plaza Krvavec, Planšarija Viženčar, Penzion Tia, mountain hut in Gospinec, restaurant Dom na Krvavec, Pr' Dovarju and Brunarica Soncek. In Krvavec is the transmitter for radio and television Slovenia. It is built from ferroconcrete and 100 metres high. In summer time Krvavec is a starting point for many mountain trips. You can go just by walking paths or by the path, which will lead you after the Krvavec history.
Vogel is situated in Bohinj Commune. It lies in the southeast of the Julian Alps. It is a ski slope in the region of Triglav National Park. Contemporary cable railway in the Ukanc takes us to the 1537 heigh above sea level. From restaurant Viharnik, which is just near getting out of the cable railway, it is a wonderful panorama view to the Bohinj valley. They have pizza and other food. Here is also a famous Ski Hotel Vogel, where guests can enjoy in the sauna, restaurant, appetiser drink, sunny terace and views to Bohinj lake, Triglav or to the ski slopes Vogel, Sija, Rodica. We can go to Vogel in the winter and also in the summer months. Winter season lasts from the end of October till December and if there is a lot of snow, till Easter. The cable railway works from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., every half hour. Ski gears work from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In transitive months among the winter and the summer season and other way, it comes to the changes of working time. There is for 38 kilometres ski slopes, suitable for beginners and demanding skiers. They also organize ski school, they have kindergarten, Elan snowboard park and other activities. Restaurant Orel heads is situated in lower station of ski chair lift Sija, just next to ski slope. It is open in summer and in winter season. They serve you with food for different tastes. In new Alpine village are mountain hut, pizza restaurant, tourist rooms, hostel and apartment house. Vogel is starting-point for easier and demanding tours.
Planina pod Golico is the idyllic village in the municipality Jesenice. It is accessible from the centre of the city Jesenice. The road is going from the health centre steep to the village, which is hidden among Karavanke. It lies in the southern slope of the border mountain Golica, which is popular place to go to. The village was sometimes called Planina and the first residents were sheperds. Today's name got it after the year 1945. In May and in the beginning of June the meadows get white because of the narcissuses. The people's tale says that narcissuses got their name because of the bees. Planina pod Golico offers plenty things worth seeing like Savske jame, Savske cave, church of Saint Cross, monument for fallen soldiers between second world war, ski slope Spanov vrh, small chapel, ski home Crni vrh. In the churchyard you can see a tombstone of famous alpinist and photographer Joza Cop. In the Savske jame was an iron mine. It was closed in the beginning of the 20 th century, because of the lack of the ore. Church of the Saint Cross was built in the second half of the 17 th century by members of the Italian family, Bucceleni, which were at that time the owners of the mines in the Savske jame. Ski slope Spanov vrh was very popular in 70's and 80's in former century. It the year 2005 was renovated with the help of the project of the Community Jesenice. We can refresh at the bar Zicnica at the lower station Spanov vrh, where we can get drink or at the Betel Tourist Farm, where we can get good home made food and drink. Betel tourist farm is situated at the end of the village.
Zelenica is located in the left side of the former boundary frontier Ljubelj. You can leave car in the larger parking place under the lower station of the ski slope Zelenica. At weekends it can be crowded, so it is better if you come in the early morning hours. The ski centre Zelenica attracts many visitors, because the ski lines are good for experienced skiers and also for the ones who are just beginners. It represents the central point for the downhill ski from Vrtaca, Stol, Begunjscica and Suho rusevje. In Zelenica they also have ski school, where you can learn to ski in Alpine style or snowboarding. It is provided for refreshment and rest, because there are open two huts, Hut Vrtaca in the medium station of the ski chair lift and the mountain hut in the peak of the Zelenica. The ski slope has two ski chair lift and three ski lift. The prices for the tickets are among the lowest in the Slovenian ski slopes. Zelenica is in the summer time the starting point for numerous longer and shorter mountain trips and tours. Already in the last turning of the road, which goes to the frontier Ljubelj, there are branches to the Alpine meadow Korosica. The road to the summit of the Zelenica lasts about one hour and half. There is the Mountain hut in Zelenica, which was entirely destroyed by fire in the year 1999 and is now gradually renovated. Zelenica is the transitional post to Begunjscica (two hours and half), Vrtaca (two hours), Stol (three hours and half) and only 15 minutes to Hut by the spring of Zavrsnica. Born’s path is a path which starts to the mountain Preval in the southern part of the Begunjscica. It is the picturesque way through the stony tunnels, which was made by baron Born, so he could have the access to his hunting field. Because it is rather dark there, it is recommended that you have a lamp. At the right side of the former frontier Ljubelj goes the macadam road to the mountain pass Ljubelj, which is in the winter time also the toboggan ride. The pass is known as one of the oldest passes in the Europe, which was already used in the Roman times.
