Piran is a beautiful medieval seaside town. Preseren Quay is a promenade that goes right by the sea. While walking, you pass the Hotel Piran, many cafes, pastry shops, restaurants that invite you with their delicious scents, colorful old buildings, the Our Lady of Health Church, the ancient Milje Gate and other attractions. On the north side of Preseren Quay is the lighthouse, the town beach and the famous Piran diving center. The Piran Hotel was built in 1964. It was completely renovated in 2002. It has four stars and you also have an internet corner and reading room at the hotel. On the ground floor of the hotel there is a conference room and its technical equipment enables the organization of numerous events. The Our Lady of Health Church was first mentioned in the 13th century. It was first named after one of the first Roman popes, Saint Clement, and then because of the plague that spread in the 17th century, it was renamed the Our Lady of Health Church. The Milje Gate was part of the city walls. They are one of the seven preserved doors and are one of the oldest preserved doors in Piran. The diving center organizes courses and offers equipment rental and use of the center.
